Whites Eagle II

New member
I just picked up a Whites Eagle II for $300... Not sure if it was a deal or not but needed an extra one! Does anyone have any tips for using this detector?

Hi rw, You got one of Whites best, she is a old one but a very good one. Just use the pre sets till you get the hang of it , then she will talk to you like a dream , she will whisper things that are in the ground you just got to listen close. I had a 1989 Eagle and sold it, and the next spring i started looking for another one. I had some of the top detectors made, but not like my Eagle was. I got a 1990 now, and will keep it till i can,t detect any more. You will see if you just give her a chance. Good Luck Flintstone

rw Like Flint sead one of the Best ones Whites made, The Discrimination in tone ID is the best, The less Disc you ues the Deeper She can go
Disc out 95+ ACC 94+ too 20- and Disc out the rest, Listen close if you get one + Number repeatable and its Deeper Dig it,
If its trashy use the 5.3 Bullsey or the 600 6 " coil Best of Luck too you , Mickfin

I LOVE my Eagle Spectrum! Finally figured out what she is saying to me and it's a coin vacuum! Wouldn't trade her for the world now! I'd buy another just in case if the opportunity arose!

Try the 5.3 coil. Balance is better, works well at slower swing than the stock loop, and goes almost as deep.

I have an '89 SL I have had for 20 years. Tried the next few models that came out, Spectrum and XLT, and found that they were irritatingly slow to respond, having a time lag in response that the Eagle II SL did not. Sold them all and kept the Eagle II SL.

I agree with above posters that this is one of the best of the White's line. An old friend.

I started medal detecting in the 70's and used just about every detector made. In 1990 I purchased the WHITE'S EAGLE 2 SL and it was the best detector I've ever had bar none. I've also bought a lot of the newer ones but have never found one that will outdo the EAGLE 2. When I go over a spot with the EAGLE 2 very little is left. I tested this by going over it with several other detectors. I now own three of them and will never get rid of them.

I set mine up in the COIN& JEWERY program- TWO TONE - pinpoint VCO which makes it very easy to shrink the target, 9/1/2 coil and your set to go. One other thing when you pinpoint and it gives you a O depth, it's not a coin unless it's on top of the ground. You can get rid of a lot of junk by not digging these unless your relic hunting.
