this coil will airtest a nickle around 7 inches but in a field it doesnt hit brass like buttons good and doesnt seem to go very deep is the stock 950 the best coil for relic hunting thanks hal

I have used the 9.5 coil and hit large cents at 14". I have the 800 coil and use it on my 6000 Di/ pro and what few times i used it hit dimes at 8" to 9" with it. Have never used it on my Eagle II, I just wish they were not so heavy. I sold my first Eagle II, that was a 1989 , Now i have a 1990 and think the " 89 " was a little hotter. If you have the 9.5" coil try it , it is not to bad in trash and it will go deep. Good Luck Flintstone

Sent the Eagle and Blue Max 800 coil to Whites a while ago and received it back.Had it re-calibrated.
Unfortunately we have snow and frozen ground here till April really looking forward in giving a work out.

Hello Joel,

I have an Eagle II SL that acts up while I am in the field and was thinking about letting White's have a look at it, What is the procedure to send one to them? Do you call first, go to the website, get an RMA number?

I just sent the detector and coil to Whites in Sweet Home Oregon.
Don't send the rods and arm support.
Just sent a note what you want done to it.
I haven't used it yet but put it together for hunts when the snow melts.
Reasonable price and I ordered an extra battery case for it also.

Here's a link to the customer service form: White's Customer Service Form

Make sure you send it to Sweet Home. I'm not saying any of the regional service centers are bad, but I prefer dealing with the Mother Ship.

Air tests are great in some regards and not in others. Your airtest of 7 inches is a good start and gives you something to go by. I think that maybe it could be your soil in where you live. You didn't say what part of the country or soil you have. The key here is getting the best ground balance in your soil where the detector cancels out matrix (med. to high mineralization) and sees targets.

Sometimes you can't get a good ground balance, but that's OK. I use a bullseye 5.3 when I detect with my XL Pro and one time I was hunting at a park. I did the ground balance and proceeded to hunt. I must of lucked out that day cuz I got a weak signal. I pinpointed and the target was at 8" and the VDI was at 47. With the weak signal and pp in both directions, I dug up a small gold pendant with a small portion of the gold chain attached! I was somewhat shocked to say the least. Plus the soil was moist from being watered that week.

Good Luck with your Royal 800.

Anyone have the rod, aka shaft for the Eagle SL II? I have an Eagle SL that the owner butchered and put a BH shaft on it, because they wanted a cuff that would fit the wife. Well, bought the Eagle SL off of feebay, and when I got it, the cuff doesn't fit me. It is too short. They really "customized" it. They turned the conrol box upside down, etc. Attached a BH cuff to the box.

I called Whites, and they didn't have a shaft. Low on SL parts. I have some parts, including a circuit board. How can I tell if the circuit board has been modified to be an SL!! ? Have a box with the top and handle, but need a shaft to fit the SL.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Nes
