can you use this pi in a freash water lake,i heard pi metal detector dont work well in fresh water, thanks

Clyde,
Should work fine, I have a Sand Shark that works fine in fresh water; although I usually take my CZ20 to fresh water since it can discriminate out the iron or ID the iron. The Dual Field has adjustable pulse delay which the Sand Shark doesn't have; an added bonus.

The issue with PI in fresh water is frequently iron. Iron such as fish hooks, nails, and various pieces of hardware, decays fairly quickly in salt water so there isn't that much of an iron problem in the wet at most salt water beaches. At fresh water beaches, depending on the beach, you may end up digging a lot of iron targets with a PI detector since those targets don't break down quickly in fresh water and the PI detectors don't do much in the way of discrimination.

PI detectors work great at fresh water beachs.

Just be sure to install a strong magnet in your scoop or you will be chasing around a 25 year old bobby pin all day.
