Whites Discovery 3300 vs Pioneer 505

Pa Woodhick

New member
I am new to Mding & was wondering which of these is better, I live in Pa. I was considering the Ace 250 but I'm told due to the high
mineralization it would be lacking in performance, I'm looking at the 3300 & 505, so I need some advice, I see the 3300 has a pinpoint button
I was also wondering how good the 505 pinpoints. thanks in advance for you time & advice. HH

Whites never made the 3300.
That's a Bounty Hunter made detector.
You'll likely get better info on the Bounty Hunter Forum.
The pioneer is also a BH product.
I have used the 3300 in the past and found lots of goodies with it .
The 505 seems to have a good following on that forum also.

This is the Whites forum but to reply to your question anyway........

Comparision wise, the BH 3300 isn't going to do any better in mineralized soil.
Also, If it wasn't for that I'd say you should get the Ace 250. The BH 3300
doesn't have VCO pinpointing; the ace 250 does. The Ace 250
also has five different modes to hunt in; the BH 3300 doesn't as far as I know.
What Can I say.Price wise $212 for the ace 250 is a steal.

Its not that the BH 3300 is a bad machine, it isn't. Its just doesn't have the
value added feature as the Ace. I don't know anything about the 505 you mentioned.

Some people will tell you its a junk machine and thats why it's only $212.
Not so; Garrett made a wise move by buiilding a sturdy machine with added features
that should be priced in the mid range $400 +. He priced it low to steal a good portion
of the market and it worked.

And then White's came out with the Coinmaster for $180 to compete with the Ace 250............
