Whites did it again

I wanted to share this with all of you. I know you'll appreciate this story. I bought a used DFX detector or as the add stated a slightly used but fully functional detector off EBay. Well when I received it and opened this 3 foot long box, the shafts were wrapped with packing paper but the main unit was floating around in the box along with the power converter. When I pulled it out I could see that the face plate on the read out was open and the ribbon cable was hanging out of the head. The seller refused to take it back. He swears that it was fine when it left his house. Well I called Todd at Whites and explained what happened and so he said for me to send it up. A week later I got a call from Connie from Whites and she said that they fixed it. She told me that they replaced the printed circuit board and the coil and the pod and the phone jack and the face plate. I was ready to take a beating on this repair so I asked Connie, how much was the bill. She said that there will be no charge and said enjoy and GOOD HUNTING. This is why I am on my 4th Whites detector and why I keep coming back. I hope they read this so I can say thanks one more time.

If only other companys would treat there customers like Whites, maybe they would stay in business. Whites is the best

Yep, I know the Whites feeling well.

Started with a 6000D back in the 1980's in Victoria, down here in OZ, & had a ball with a top detector.

Stupidly gave the Hobby away for 30 odd years, & came back into it in March 2011.

Tried two detectors (not Whites), & couldn't really get into them.:clsoedeyes:

Sold them & bought a Whites DFX & haven't looked back since.(I like the threshold hum)

Then I decided I needed a detector for the beach......Had to be waterproof, but not for use fully under the water. Bought one, didn't I.(not Whites, again)

I hate it!:ranting:

So.....I have just ordered a Whites Beach Hunter 300 ID, & even before I get it, I KNOW I will like it.

That's my two bob's worth about Whites.

Great Company, great detectors, & a super dealer out here in Australia. :cheers:
 
tell you what,,,thats sold a load more machines for whites,, the best in the business,,great job guys,,,you never hear any horror stories from whites,,,tell you ,,ive been considering a coupla machines lately,,,wanted another xlt,,but there not making them now,,,but i must find another whites,,,whats the 6t like ??? rgds

Indeed Whites is second to none relative to service after the sale.

As far as E-bay goes too many shrewdies, pawn shops, yard sale and such sold so if you have to buy used buy from one of the detector classifieds( nuff said as been there done that in both cases)
 
I will buying a used White's detector tomorrow which has less than 12 hrs. on it, but it is from a close friend and I've already used it, so already know it is in mint condition. Even so it is always good to hear how great White's service is.
 
I will never own a beeper thats not whites. im on # 2 and they have never done me wrong. !!!!!!!!!:detecting: I need to send in my old beeper. hpe i have such good of a experience. !!!-swamp hawk!!! dig in the dark!!!!!!!!!!
 
Btw, UPS would have covered the damage up to $100; they don't usually even do an inspection, but the check would have gone to the seller, who has to make the claim. Over $100, you can pretty much forget it, because UPS has a contractor do those claims and they find reasons not to pay - packaging not up to UPS specifications being the main reason, damage not caused in shipment is #2.
 
I live 25 miles from the factory. I went there to buy my machine and they sent me to a local dealer. They took the machine to her so she could do the sale. They told me at the factory since I am local if I had any problems and brought my machine in to the factory to repair it they would give me lifetime free service and parts. You cannot beat their service.
