Whites DFX

Have been out of detecting for a few years and decided to get back in and have always been a Whites Fan for whatever reason. Anyway, to make a long story short, trying to find a Whites DFX. Have been checking ebay and they always seem to be just out of this disabled Vietnam Vets reach. Found one on Craigs List and then found it six more times, on Craigs List, same ad, same everything. so evidently a scam. Please do not respond or send me B.S. emails about another brand, another model or whatever. Mind is set on the Whites DFX or DFX 300. Would go after the Spectra but way out of my reach for sure.

I live in Arkansas so the unit will need to be for sale someplace I can drive and pick it up. For obvious reasons. Am not going to put a price range as maybe I can find someone with compassion for old disabled vets and cut me a good deal on one.

Pray for our Nation.

I might suggest using our Metal Detectors Classified forum. Start by WTB, (Want to Buy) and the sellers will contact you. Being new, sellers might be extra careful selling to you, so be prepared to prove your trustworthiness and the sellers can be checked out by you on our Feedback Forum. You can search the Feedback by name for past transactions. MOST of the users on this Forum are great to deal with and if still in doubt with the seller, you can post on the Feedback Forum if anyone has dealt with the seller before. Also on the Feedback Forum is a short list of people NOT to deal with.

Good luck

Appreciate the info, thanks for taking the time to let me know. Regards.

AgentOrange2009----Thanks for your service to this great country of ours.--If I had a DFX for sale, I'd cut you a good deal.--That's good advise Larry gave you.--Most all the people on the classifieds here are honest folks but I have been "ripped off" a couple of times, so it can happen.---Just check out the seller before purchase & you will be fine.-----Wishing you the best, Del

Thanks for the info. I too have been ripped off in the past and would love to get my hands on the so and so who did it. I have an ebay account that I have had for awhile and people can check it out to see about my past business dealings. Thanks a bunch and hopefully I can stick around and get involved with this forum.

am also a bit hesitant regarding some non-detecting forum sites, such as C's List. matter of fact, there's one right now I am looking into, a DFX 'package', but one of my sons lives nearby and I'm going to have him take a look at it and, if it meets my rigid "as new" standards, buy it for me. That way I am, not sending $$$ in the hope that it isn't a scam.

If I get this nice looking DFX, I'll shot you an E-mail. As others have stated, don't hesitate to deal with some of the 'regulars' on this forum (Findmall Classifieds).

Am not in any hurry to buy a dectector. Sooner or later one will come along that I can buy. I hesitate on buying one of the DFX's that is more than a year or two old. I found a package deal in craigs list and was suppose to be for 500.00. Emailed them about it, suppose to be in Memphis, well I did some more checking and found it listed in 5 different cities in five different states. It was put on Craigs list on the 2nd of June, they all were. Let me know what you find out, currious to see if it is the same or different. I have all the ad numbers in case you want to know them.
Later and thanks, could use the help.

65ACVW has contacted via this forum and has one for sale, He has a bunch of posts about the one he has, but when I asked him if he had his listed for 585.00 he said he was not sure what he had it listed for. It was listed for 800.00 in his other posts. so this makes me hesitant since there seems to be alot of posts about this dectector and such. thought you might know of him. Think his name is Dan.
Thanks, Mark

If you're referring to the DFX w/14" and 'Shooter' elliptical coils and DX-1 in-line probe, etc., etc., then I also saw that one. It was in another state, but listed on June 2nd.

I have bought a couple of things from Craig's List postings and sold some, but those are one-on-one deals that are delivered/bought in person.

I do not recognize the name ('label') you mentioned ion your other post. Some of us, however, are rather well known and respected for our selling/trading/buying deals. I part with and get detectors from the Findmall and another well known Classified Forum. I haven't had any problems in 13 years and don't foresee any.

I just got an email from the Craigs List girl who listed the DFX for 500.00, she says she is in London England and got the unit in a divorce settlement. She says that because it is US made it will only work in the US. Yeah right. Advised her or her situation and that nobody would send her money for a unit like that and her being out of country. Told her that if she was to send it to me that I would pay her if it checks out, which I would, with no problem if it is like she states. So wait and see if I hear back from her or not. Nothing like playing email tag. Stranger things have happened and she might be legitimate and then again......

Thanks Monte for the help and info, so as of right now, still looking, although a dealer is starting to look better and better.
Have a great weekend.
