White's DFX vs. Garrett's GTI 2500

Mark, that is a tough question to answer. Better in what regards? They are both great metal detectors. Because this is a Garrett Forum, I'll only speak for the 2500. The GTI 2500 is a very deep seeking machine, especially when hunting in true all metal mode. It can also be manually ground balanced for superior depth and highly mineralized areas. It has a variety of coils available, and if you are a coin and jewellery hunter, the sizing feature is a great asset to use. It saves you a lot of time by not digging junk. I believe that there is a great special deal on purchasing the "Pro Pac".

But...there is a commitment, as with all machines. You have to take the time to learn it well. :)

There is no such thing as a "better" detector - only the detector that is best for you. You would have to try them both out in your soil and hunting conditions to make an accurate determination. What's best for someone else can turn out to be horribly lousy for you - just the facts. That's from 43 years in the hobby, and writing about it for twenty five years, and field testing for fifteen years or so.
