Whites DF Coil

I need a little help. I have a Whites Dual Field with the 12 inch coil it is a little heavy for this old mans arms was wondering if there is another coil I can have mounted on it and who does this kind of work.

Thanks for the help... Butch

Butch, there may be such a coil out there, but if so I haven't heard of such.

You might chest mount the control to reduce the wear and tear on your body?

I'd like to know how you fare with this problem.

At seventy I am faced with some challenges too!!

All the best Fellow Hunter,

CJ

The DetectorPro Headhunter PI has an 8 inch coil and 11 inch coil. All the detector stuff is in the headphones. The Dual Field and HH PI w/11" coil compare well in depth. The 8 inch coil is less depth, but the pinpointing is precise. It is a very light set up. About as light as you are going to get. You could sell yours and pick one up. It would prolong your hunts and probably keep you from hurting.

Well have tried the hip mount it's a little better but I was figuring the smaller coil would be lighter and pinpoint a lot better. Possible I have not used the machine enough but getting tired of all the Bobby pins and small pieces of lobster traps etc.

Send the unit back to Whites, and ask them to replace the DF coil with the 9.5" one used on the Surfmaster PI & Surfmaster PI Pro. The coils are interchangeable.

This should make it lighter for you.

In the Dual Field the outer & the inner coil are one in the same as far as the winding go. They just split up the windings into 2 loops instead of a single. This is a lot different than say a DD coil that is 2 different individual windings set to cancel some ground affects.

djbutch was asking about is there a lighter coil he could go to. There may be some loss in overall depth due to using the smaller 9.5" loop.

Like I / X sead move the Box rearword and rig up a Bongey cord to take up the Weight??? Put a Magnet in your scoop for the iron stuff?? A bobby pin will have a doble beep in one derection
A chain will have a Dobble beep in all Derections, in most cases?? Mickfin,
