White's Customer Service- My Experience

I posted this in some other forums I participate in and wanted to make sure everyone here saw this also..

I had a White's 10" DD coil start acting very erratic after a small group hunt 3 weeks ago. I had bought this coil used last year and have used it pretty heavily since I got it. When I turned on the detector, it would go into an overload reading. I found out this was a known and somewhat chronic problem with this particular coil.

I sent just the bare coil to the White's Sweet Home, OR. headquarters with a small printout of what it was doing. It was mailed Thursday July 24th and arrived there on July 28th.

I expected they would call or email me with the diagnosis and let me know how much it would cost. Today, a brand new replacement coil was waiting on the doorstep when I got home.

Let's do the timeline:
July 24 Mailed to Whites
July 28 Received by Whites
July 31 New coil received by me

This means they did a same day turnaround and then sent a new coil coast to coast in only 3 days (Oregon to Maryland).

This is my only experience with having to send something back in to White's and I couldn't be happier. I just thought I'd post a very positive experience so others could see the level of superior customer service they offered. I've heard very positive stories about a few of the other companies out there, so I'm glad this one worked out great also.

Way to go Whites!

Thats impressive! :surprised: With all things being somewhat equal, cars, detecting gear, whatever, lots of times the buying decision is based off how well the reputation for SERVICE is..
This experience didnt happen by accident, somebody up there at Whites has made this a top priority....Good on Them!:clapping:

My MXT was damaged rolling around the back of my truck. I sent it in to Sweethome with the explanation and request for repair cost. They fixed the control head, which is the only part I sent in, and they sent it back. Included in the return box was a new 950 coil. I called them and asked about the mistake. They said keep it and thanks for buying a whites machine. That was my second whites machine. I now own a third. My V31. This company Knows service. And the repairs that I said were my fault were still fixed under warranty. The best Machines made by The Best company. JMHO.

I sent in an XL-PRO a while back and it was done fast at a reasonable priced. They even did extra things like replacing and tightening the knobs which can be loose and move on these models and I didn't even mention this. Most manufactures only do what is told to do. Whites does what needs to be done. The best service in the industry!

I am a loyal customer now and have never needed their service.
Hats off to mom and pop companies like Whites. I'm proud to by American Made !!

Indeed superior service after the sale ought to cover it...guess that's why they have been around so long....

I've called them about a missing wing-nut on a used coil I bought. I asked them how much and could I just write them a check....they said no way, don't worry about paying for it, it's in the mail! Great bunch of people up there (I'm down in the southern end of the state). Just can't say enough about 'em!!:super:

Yes Whites does have great service. I found out that if i need a part or service i will always send to Sweet Home for it. They are faster and cost less in Sweet Home than there other service centers . So i live on the east coast but i always use Sweet Home on the west cost for service..

Hi,
the whites service in the United States is top-notch,
but here in Germany it sucks (whites UK). May be it is their distributor here.
Great machines, awful service.
My experience.

They do have excellent service. Mary at White's is an awesome:clap: person, too. She goes beyond what is expected and is a total asset :clapping:to their company !!! Sometimes it is better to not question a warranty issue and just fix or replace the item and get many more dollars of good online advertisement from satisfied customers.
