Whites CTX 3030

SurfPro

New member
Greetings,

The wife and I are strictly beach hunters, mostly in the wet sand and in the water. Our current arsenal includes 2 each of the Sov GT and the Whites Dual Field. The wife may have killed her Sov this past weekend. I may venture out and replace it with something else. I'd like to hear some opinions as to whether or not a CTX 3030 would be as effective as what we've currently been using. We hunt in reverse discrimination with the Sov's, they both have the WOT coil.

Thanks,
SP

you should buy the CTX 3030 for your wife, accompanied by the harness swing pro 45, it is the top of lightness after for detection beach

Is the operation similiar the the Sov Gt in anyway, like the Excalibur is, or will there be a completely new learning curve?

I have a Minelab CTX3030 (Its not a Whites), Minelab Excalibur with a 15" WOT, Minelab Explorer XS with a 15" WOT coil and others. and a Whites Dual Field PI. My personal opinion is that the CTX3030 is too expensive and clumsy for beach use. It comes with an 11" coil and you can buy a heavy 17" coil and a small 6" coil as accessories. I wouldn't saddle your wife with a machine that heavy and although it is good for finding things on land, I haven't found any advantage in water. I think the Whites goes deeper on the beach and is much lighter.Yes, you will dig more trash, but that is normally where the rings are in the wet. I've tried the harness on the CTX, but it is clumsy. Oh yes the CTX3030 has a learning curve although it does come programed with a beach, and other modes.... nes

Thanks for the info. I sent the Sov Gt in for repair today. Hopefully they can fix it. If not, I'll probably buy another one, we've done very well with them.

WHITES CTX 3030,, And i been thinking i need to set the bottle down more:heh::heh::rofl::rofl:

I love the CTX on the beach! It's an awesome machine and somewhat deeper than the GT! It's easy to run right out of the box and can tweaked any way imaginable if you need to. I thought i would never use the gps but I'm finding it very useful with beach and land hunting. Good luck with your GT repair!
