This is a 1st. What model did they copy, at least the design looks
like a Whites.

The detector is distributed in the US by LG Sports, a subsidary of LG Enterprises, LLC. The LG that we see in the electronics world and home appliances is LG Electronics. They are not the same company.

I remember when LG first made it's appearance in the appliance stores. My local Maytag guy referred to them as those cheap Korean appliances. Known then as the Gold Star brand. A few years later, they became known as Lucky Gold Star. Now that Maytag has been sold out, my local dealer handles the LG and brags that it is the best. Funny how that happens! HH Randy

Saw a like new one sell on the classifieds for about 120.00 not long ago. Maybe someone who has one can comment on it...

having a close look at those pics,i had to have a chuckle :clapping: .. i mean...
the control box looks like whites, the meter looks like an xl pro copy, the hand grip looks like a garrett(and armcuff, just doesnt have the battery pod) and the coil looks like the tesoro donut ! man! talk about borrowing other peoples ideas!:crylol:

I found a similar one at a local flea market for $20-25 bucks about a year ago, Same housing minus the meter.

It was worthless, So I ripped out the guts, repainted it black and pasted on a couple of Baron decals. Then, slipped in a Treasure Baron circuit board using a Whites 8AA battery holder.

For the module housing, Used a gutted out alarm housing.
