Whites Coinmaster

Has anyone had any first-hand experience with the Whites Coinmaster? At $179 it seems like a great buy but there seems to be very little online info available. Even the manual posted at the website is just two pages and has no technical information.

My sister got one for Christmas, It looked nice, but to cold to get and try it. I might get me one when it warms up. From i was told it is like the Prism 3 only a little better. Good Luck with one if you get it. Flintstone YAB-DAB-DO

Monte has posted a few things about it. Apparently the Coin Master
and Prizm III are the same but the Coin Master has dropped the adjustable
arm rest. I called Whites and they told me there is also no DVD as it is so simple
to use. However, you can get the Prizm DVD for $9.99 as its the same machine. The CM
is also water resistant and pinpoints the same way as the MXT.

The Prizm Minni DD also works on the CoinMaster.
You can also use the 9.5 and the 9" coils but since you get the 9"spider coil anyway
I don't know why I'd want them. The Prizm III Minni DD coiol is the way to go.

I never thought I'd seriously think of selling My Ace 250 since I went out of the way
to buy extra coils for it but now...............I just don't know.

The reason, the salesman said, for the new machine is to compete with the many
other low end prices such as Garretts 250 and Fishers F-2.

I've got one....I've had it out a couple of times and I gotta say....it's an awesome little machine! Pinpoint is good, the depth reading seems to be right on for the most part (just like any other machine), ID works very well, too. Also, it's very light and well balanced.

The first place I took it was very trashy, so with the 9" coil it had a few problems with masking, which is to be expected. It still managed to pick out some good targets, once I learned what it was trying to tell me. I then took it to a soccer field where I have always got a lot of clad coins. Older coins are rare here as my buddies and i have hunted the field for years with a lot of different machines. I stated digging coins immediately, most of them new drops, with an occasional 2-4 inch deep coin. This field is not trashy and I cranked the sensitivity all the way up to see what would happen. Imagine my surprise a minute later when I dug a silver dime at 7 inches!

Overall, I highly recommend this machine! For tot lots or just general coinshooting, this little beast is FUN to use. I can't wait to get the 4x6 coil for trashy sites.

My opinion: Whites has got a winner!

I have been real impressed with it. Lightweight, good depth. easy to use, seems to work better than the Ace 250 in my ground. It is a lot of machine for $180 or less.

Would the 9.5 PZ pro coil go deeper than the 9 inch Spider coil?(besides) the spider coil will catch more (in the woods) being more open. I have a spare 9.5 PZ pro, and im not sure if I should return it or keep it along with the 4x6 DD.

Sounds like a great machine for the money.I am going to buy one for my nephew, his first detector, ease of use ,effective ,and fun.,perfect for him.

About that new Coin Master....Is there an all metal mode
if you want to play around relic hunting?
Katz

I have not played around with the all metal modes, but there are two ways. One is to accept iron in the notch filters and the other is, use pinpointing mode, which is also all metal. How deep into the iron range the discriminator takes you, I don't know. I would guess plenty deep for relic hunting.

Thanks. That sounds incouraging. If it can relic hunt as well as coin and
jewlery then the machine will be stiff compitition for the Ace 250. Frankly,
the only thing I don't like about the Ace is that Bell Tone. Drives me nuts!
