whites coil problem

New member
Hi i have a eagle spectrum but the 9.5 standard coil has gone all erratic and wont pinpoint if i swap coils its fine so it must be in the coil any ideas thanks

first thing to check is the cable conector, wiggle the cable when tightened and see if it falses, then do the same where it goes into the coil, the connector if bad can be changed or resoldered, where it goes into the coil is a different matter but may be repairable, also check the whole length of the cable for cuts etc

Other than opening up the plug to make sure everything is cosher especially the shielding no idea
You could call or send it to whites especially if you have another coil to use in the meantime, i think thier turn arround is about 2 weeks and i don't think it will cost too much.
I have also heard of the DFX going bad on the big 14 x12 coil and only when using this coil, something goes wrong inside the electrics, if youve tried another 9.5 coil this shouldn't be the issue

hi, write me on mdforall@gmail.com. I change a cable of Whites coils.

yours

For some reason the 9.5 coil on whites goes out of tune and has been a problem for years...basically if it won't ground balance you have to get a new coil , but again would try all the tips before
I invest in another coil.....yep you started out right in changing coils as you eliminated many other problems as the other coil worked fine...

If the coil has a cover, remove it and clean it out ands the coil...let them fully dry before reassembly, then try it again...

HH,

thanks heaps, tryed a 9.5 and a 12in hot head both work fine just brought a 800deep scan to go on unit you have all been a great help thank you all.

Try to clean the female connections on the end of the cable of the coil using a drill bit that just fits in there......but be careful not to do any damage. Sometimes you will get dirt or oxidation on the contacts.

Contact spray cleaner will work also, safer too as its hard to damage anything

the problem is MORE serious than you are thinking. it is a CABLE itself.
