does any one know anything about this older machine? what tips could you give me . it seems the pin pointer has a wide window for identification.

Monte responded to your original post (Sept. 28 th), on this subject, If I was you, I would email him as he is the man on the White's Classics.
 
Here is a tip for nickels - Pinpoint the center. Sweep over the target 2 inches either way. Clean nickels will not only light up the nickel notch but will "ghost flash" in the foil notch too. You can just barely see it.
 
Those IDX machines are OLD and worn out. You better send it to me. You'll be glad you got rid of it. This goes for anyone else with an IDX or IDX Pro too.
