Whites"Classic 5 "ID"?

beachnik

New member
Hey Y'all,
I am new to this forum and I am thinking of buying a Whites Classic 5 ID.
I have been detecting for a number of years with a Garrett 500,its been OK but I sold it to a friend,I hunt parks and soft sand, like the beach, but not in the water.I am dissabeled so I can't dig in hard ground,I was told that with my budget of about $400,that this would be a good machine for me,any tips will be greatly appreciated.Thx.

The Whites Classic ID detectors are great little detectors and they perform very well. You will be pleased if you decide to get one. It is one of the better detectors out there in that price range.

Good Luck,
Bill G

Hello,
I just registered on this forum and just ordered a Classic 5 ID pro. Did you buy the Classic 5 ID or something else? And if you bought the Classic 5 how did it work out?
My detector should be here 2-13-07. I have never done any metal detecting and hope this detector is a good one.
Thanks.

My 17yr old Teckenics gave up the ghost last year. The battery connections wore out. I dug into my savings and bought a 5ID. Bad move. The dept is pretty good but there is no tone change. The target could be a dime or a Volkswagen, no way of knowing. I classify it as a "toy" Called Whites to complain and they told me to spend a thousand and buy a good one. Rigged a battery pack for the old tecknetics, gave the toy to my cousin in the interior of Mexico. He hasn't done any good either.

You will do fine with the Classic 5 unit. It's a Classic ID that's been re-done for KellyCo's sales.

There are thousands of satisfied users of the Classic ID, so you can expect the same from the #5. It's far from being a toy, as one here suggested, that's just posting of mis-information.

Go ahead, and purchase one, you won't be sorry. :)

Mr. Bill
