WHITES BULLEYE 2 pinpointer

Purchased a bullseye pinpointer a few weeks ago, seems the sens of picking up items in the hole and plug is not very good. I did a depth test against pinpointer from harbor freight and the bullseye and harbor freight was 1/2'' or more. Could i have a bad pinpointer or does this sound right ? I was using a garrett until operator error, the bullseye is way off of the garrett. Thanks Tom

[size=large]from what i've seen 1/2"-1" is about right for the be2. a post was made a few days ago about doing the same trick with the be2 as with the garrett. slide a coin along side it till it beeps then back off just a bit. it will give a little more length of signal.

What i meant was the harbor freight pinpointer picked up almost a 1/2'' more then the bullseye. I know i am probably spoiled after using the garrett but the cheap harbor freight pinpointer is less expensive and comes with a belt holder. I was able to pick the bullseye up at a dealer for 50.00, if i would of paid more i would not be very happy at all.

The Harbour Freight pointer i have works better than the Bullseye I had. And the Garrett is the best of all. Can't beat the Garrett. It is my number one choice with the HF as a backup.

I had a Whites Bullseye.......lost it. Got a Garrett's Propointer........ lost it. Bought a Sunray and I love it. Best one out there, IMHO! If I lose my Sunray I'll be in trouble!!!!!

[size=large]you have to de-tune each time. one trick is to tape a tie strap to the side with a washer sliding on it.

Just a thought here so Please don't get angry. If a PP is used to help find the target easier and quicker it seems like it would be More accurate if it had Less depth. That's the whole idea of it..to narrow down the target. If it has less depth, say about an inch, which would mean it's closer, then that really narrows it down.If you want to find a needle in a hay stack why would you want more depth?Like I said...just another way to look at it.Please don't take it for the Gospel. With less pickup on the side of the PP I think that would help also in case there is more than one target in the hole.Pin Pointers are so small I wouldn't mind having one that is bottom sensitive only, but that's just Me!

I use the whites bullseye 2 it seems to do just fine, as for some of the problems people are having with them as mentioned on this forum. you would think a Whites tech would answer them or make some kind of comment on here.
