Can somebody tell me why in ID mode the threshold will chang from a normal hum to a higher hum N back wen i get a signal????????????? Thanks all, MickFin

Hey there buddy,

I think the extra filters creates this carry over (tone) from the last signal then changes when responding to another signal, I'm not sure how many filters the Beachhunter operates at and I've read/heard it's sort of a DFX which the DFX can operate between 2-6 filters. How many are preset with the Breachhunter I don't know which may account for the tone carry over? Extra filters are good for mineralized soil, But they create the threshold tone to linger on for a period of time (several feet) well at least the older analog detectors did.

I experienced this with my Whites 6000 Di-Pro back in the nineties, That was an analog 4-filter detector with a slow recovery speed and I would notice the last signal would carry over on the threshold, My 6000 Di-Pro was modified into a 4-tone detector and because it now had 4 tones is when this carry over from the last signal was noticeable.

I feel the DFX may have this same type of tone design as was applied to my Whites 6000 Di-Pro, I can't mention this persons name who preformed this 4-tone mod on my 6000 Di and he would kill me for even mentioning this but let's say he was one of Whites major contributors on a certain detector he designed and Whites sold a boat load of them and many to this day feel as well as I do this was one the greatest detectors for a particular type of treasure hunting.

Next time we get together show me your Beachunter, This may be the reason you're experiencing the threshold lingering on from the last signal due to the extra filters.

Remember this hunt from the pic below :)

I can't tell you why, but that is just normal with the BH and other detectors Mick.
