Whites BeachHunter vs Dual Field

If you were to purchase a new whites water machine, Would you buy the BeachHunter ID or the Surf Dual Field PI ? And why?

Boils down to your hunting style, The BHID is a VLF, with discrimination. The DF is a PI machine with no Discrimination and will hit on all metals, including iron but works better on salt water beach's........... good luck

I've had both the BHID and the Dual Field. My choice for fresh water lakes would be the BHID. It's discrimination of iron really helps you save time and effort not digging nails, hair pins, etc. For salt water and salt water beaches I'd go with the Dual Field. The salt water corrodes the iron quicker so it doesn't accumulate as much as it does in fresh water so it's not as big a concern. The DF will also go deeper than the BHID on salt beaches. Some folk live or hunt near piers that have been torn down or replaced and these areas can have tons of iron bolts, nails, washers, etc. If this is your condition then a PI like the Dual Field will drive you crazy. The best detector in these areas are a Minelab Sovereign. Great iron disc with depth approaching the PI units.

Awesome now I just need to find a good used BeachHunter 300. I have the Dual Field and yes it is a beep and dig machine with some exceptions once you learn the tones.

The Dual Field would be your best choice of the two it really excels in the saltwater environment! The Excalibur II would be my second choice it really excels on the salt wet sands!
