Whites Beach Hunter

New member
Anyone have any experience with the Beach Hunter? Especially the new 300? I have a Minelab Excal and have thought about getting another beach detector. Would love to hear good and bad experiences. Thanks! :beers:

John, I was forced to use a BHID because my Minelab Excalibur broke in the first 6 months. I was not too happy with the results of using it the first few times out. But I have always said in the 34 years of detecting, its not the machine that's good its who is operating it. I now have about 80 hrs of hunting with it and I can hang in there with others. you just have to learn a different machine. It would be of my opinion that it's not as good as the Excalibur but it's a Whites and they build good detectors. If It were me and I am I would buy a Minelab GT as my back up. I would then build a water proof box for it. Which I will as i found all the instruction on the net. My excalibur will be home tomorrow and I will give the BHID back to it's owner. But all in all it was a great machine once I learned how to use it. steve
