White's Beach Hunter ID Water Machine

Basically the Beach Hunter ID is made for fresh water and does well there. It can be used on salt water beaches but is not the best. Overall it's a good beach/water detector that has multi-frequency and options enough to make it worth your while.

Thank you Tony for replying to my question and your input on the Beach hunter ID. I bought this on impulse before I checked it out and am not sure if I am going to like it or not. I have never done any freash or salt water hunting. I like my MXT most of all but I am afraid of falling or dropping it in the water so I will let my wife use it.

I have a BH and haven't used it much, but when I have used it, I love it. When my wife and I went to Mexico a year ago, I used the BH and my wife her MXT. Both did great. I had hoped to do some water hunting but the waves were just too big that week so we hunted the sand. Better water machines, sure, but the BH suits me just fine.

Thank you Larry for the input on the BH-ID. I will be going to the beach hopefully when it warms up to try it out. I have played with it some in my yard to get use to the different tones. I guess what I dislike the most is not knowing how deep the object is.

Bill,

The BHID works very well on saltwater beaches that are void of black sand, such as the beaches of Florida. I have dug some deep coins on Daytona and New Smyrna beach. HH JW

Thank you JW for the input. I use to go to Jacksonville and Ormond Beach outside Daytona years ago but haven't been there since my kids are all grow up and married. We use to visit Disney Land. My wife likes to go to Myrtle Beach at Pirate Land & Ocean Lake camp grounds and camp. I have never done any water hunting anywhere and it's a whole new experience for me since retirement. I did hunt the dry sand a little 2 years ago with my Bounty Hunter. I have bought a MXT since then but have never been back to the beach to try it. I wanted a water machine to use on the beach & land machine to use around home.

The MXT will get respectable target depth on wet sand also.

Smart choice about having a seperate machine for the beach. We all know the better stuff is usually in the water and it only takes one stumble to dunk your MXT in the drink. I don't think you will be sorry if you got the BH ID, it holds it's value. Use it for a year and if you don't like it, sell it on E-bay and get about what you paid for it. I have had mine for over a year and they are still selling for what I paid for it.

Thank you Larry for the input. I guess my MXT Machine has spoiled me because it's such a great machine that is easy to use with the ability to pin-point and check the target depth before digging or probing. I will take your advise on the BH-ID and give it a try this summer and will give feed-back on how it did.
