Whites 6000D

04 Diesel

I have a Whites 6000D, which I would like to get to know better. The problem is one of the knobs is hard to turn, what would cause this? Can I fix this myself? I was thinking of taking the knob off and squirting some oil on it. Good idea or not?

What knob is hard to turn? Don't take it off and squirt oil on it...

Someone before me suggested this product as the best thing to use. Dan

I use silicone on my knobs or radio schack has a cleaner lube spray you can use oil based will eat up plastic and rubber.

take the 6 or so screws out of the box and take the guts out. GET A CAN OF CRC CONTACT AND TUNER CLEANER. PUT ON THE LITTLE RED TUBE THAT COMES WITH IT. SPRAY IT IN THE TUNER THAT IS STICKING. YOULL SEE WHERE THE WIRES GO IN. WORK THE TUNER BACK AND FORTH. LET IT DRY GOOD. REASSEMBLE. NOW YOU HAVE A SMOOTH TUNER. OR ACTUALLY IT IS CALLED A POTENTIOMETER.
