White's 6000/DI Pro SL question

New member
Hello all,

Just wondering if someone could fill me in as to where this detector fit into the Whites line and history in terms of A) years of production (generally) and B) level of quality. Any information would be appreciated. I just had one repaired, have been perusing the manual and am wondering what I might be getting into.
Thanks,
Steve in MA

The difference between the 2 are the 6000 uses 4 c-cell batteries and the 6000 weighs a little more than the XL-Pro. Also the 6000 has a volume control that the XL-Pro doesn't have. I haven't had the XL-Pro but used the 6000 for about 4 years. It is a very good detector but you have to use a faster sweep speed for better depth than on 2-filter detectors. From what I have heard performance is the same on both. Maybe Monte can comment further.
