Whites 5000D series 2 coils?

Just purchased a Whites 5000D seies 2 from ebay. There a two coils 9 & 10 inch. Just wondering if there are smaller coils for these machine. I have been searching ALL day and havent found any information. Need help. Thanks

well,i got ripped off buying a sears/whites 6000 di series 2 ,the guy showed the det. new in a case and said it was nice---when i opened the box there was mud on the case.opened the case and nearly had a heart-attack---a pile of junk with three loose batteries leaking acid,they were older than me.most controls were frozen,would not start .took me two hours to clean it up and had to send it to mass.virginia to get it worked on--still there.

e-bay will not do nothing and the seller went into hiding will not answer my calls.e-bay will put you through a maze of red-tape a mile long!!have not given up,file with the postal inspection dept.-----takes 4-6 weeks? like to get my hands on this jerk,he is in bangor,pa.it only takes one creep to screw things up for people.

Still waiting on my 50000D. Have the postal tracking number, but nothing yet. Didn't get it from Pa. and hope I am not HOSED because of this purchase. Having a four day Thanksgiving weekend I was hoping to receive this yesterday. I feel that I should deal with the stores on eBay, Kellyco and possibly other suppliers in the future. I just have to wait and hope I haven't been ripped off.

Hi Pakaderm. I just bought a 5000 d series 2 locally, I was wondering how you like your machine. I have other makes of detectors but I wanted to get another owners opinion of the 5000 d series 2. My Disc. knob is very tight, Only had it for 6 days haven't tried it yet. Would you mind letting me know the total charge for repairs by Whites in Mass., Va. I may need to send this one there. Cannot confirm where I saw this but I read this recently. An individual bought something on ebay and was not satisfied with the product. He contacted paypal and their policy was to debit the sellers checking account immediatley. This was all done super fast. You might want to pursue this.

The 5000d series II was very similar to the 6000d original. A good machine for it's era. I know a guy who used one on the wet salt beaches of CA and got great depth. It would still be a competitive machine, in some environments, even today. A fast swing machine (the faster you whipped it, the deeper you got).

Most likely the two coils you are receiving with the detector are an 8" and an 11" coil as shown in the picture below, Not 9" or a 10" coil.

Honestly, For the 5000D series 2 the 8" coil is all you need for most detecting purposes. I'd wait before buying a smaller coil, Get acquainted with the detector before making an unnecessary coil purchase.
