Whites 300 super coil

My mate over the pond here in UK has just purchased a large 12/300 whites coil on ebay ,when he connected it up to machine it over loads ,is the coil faulty? or is he doing something else wrong I will see him soon on a dig I will try it on my v3i,the coil is supposed it be new. Thanks the ferret.

There is always a possibility it is defective. Does it have the V on the mounting ear? What machine did he hook it up to and what was his settings? Did he try to reduce the gain/sensitivity to get stability?

After the 19 used V3 from the same guy on Ebay, I wonder if some of the coils offered are counterfeit also. Sad that Whites and Minelab have to have sites were you check to see if the serial numbers are real.

I've been wondering if Whites have been sent any detectors or coils for repair that are not bad but counterfeit.

Yes its V rated,we will check serial numbers out with whites when there open with a call, and I will check it with my own v3i

I bought a new super 12" v-rated and it went bad the 2nd time out. Whites replaced it no questions asked.
