Howdy--
I had a couple of hours to burn today. I do mean burn. It's been over 100 degrees in the shade and there is NO shade! Anyway, I thought that I would re-visit a site that I have been hunting for over 20 years and try a different strategy. I put the White's 12" Coil on and set the RX Gain at 5, All Metal Sens at 50, Disc Sens at 60 and Recovery Delay at 45. These settings work pretty well in this ground. Although I didn't dig any coins in this brief hunt, I did pull out a couple of Palmolive Soap tokens - one aluminum and one copper and a play coin. All three of these finds were in the 6 to 9 inch depth range.
I dug the Sterling Silver typewriter charm a couple of weeks ago using the 4X6 coil at a different site. My decent finds have been few and far between lately so I thought that I would include it in this post. Best of luck and...
