gottit; The Q II is a decent machine. Allot depends what you paid for it. If you paid a couple hundred bucks it is certinally as good or better than any new machine you can get for that amount of money. If you paid less, all the better. I used one for several weeks in and around our local park and play grounds. It done just fine, locating coins and a couple toy rings down to 6 inches or so. Much past 6 inches and the Q II really starts to fall off in the accurate target ID. Better than 90% of the targets were at 6 inches or less so that was not a problem. I did notice the ground tracking was not as effecient with the Q II as was the later QXT Pro. The Pro seemed to have the ability to run hotter than the Q II. In really mild ground you might get away with cranking up the Q II to max Sens. Advance the Sens to much and the LCD starts getting really eratic. I loved the tone of the Q II. A very mellow yet smooth tone. Very comfertable to my ears. That's about all I can tell you. Hope you will have fun. Oh yes, that rolling target intensity readout is really helpfull in sizing targets. Big Iron will fool the Q II but with the sizing feature you can ID it almost every time.
