Curious if it's worth getting I hsve had the 12x10sef in the past and it was a great coil it was sensitive to small items and seperation was great. Curious if the larger size of the 12x15 would be less sensitive to small stuff or if it will be pretty similar to the 12x10 and just give better coverage. Thank so. HH c t

For coin size targets the larger coil is not much deeper than the 10X12 and it is a LOT heavier. I think the larger SEF is primarily for relic hunting if I'm not mistaken CT.

Larry nailed it. I forget who uses the 12x15 but he will chime in.

Buy the SEF 8X6 it just plain works

OK I like the idea of the 8x6 but can you run three freq? I was told that only 2.5. Other frequencies. Don't work heck ill get both if the 6x8 works multi freq or all freq. HH c t

The 6x8 will work on 3 frequency. Single frequency 2.5 and 7.5 no problem. Some will run RX15 in 3 frequency and some won't. Usually the small coil in not run at RX15 anyway, even if it can. So for most people it works fine. A 6x8 would be use for separation and not for maximum deth.

Like Rob said, three frequency works, but 22.5 will be a little weak because it is not nulled for that frequency. I run RX 11 because that is all I can get in my ground on the 6X8 and the older black 12X10 and I get very good results on both coils in three frequency. 99% of my hunting is for higher conductor targets so 22.5 is not used much for the hunting that I do. If you are beach hunting and want to find thin chains and stud earrings, I would suggest a coil that is V rated, in other words nulled for 22.5 KHz. For beach hunting you would probably want to use a concentric coil anyway like the 12" (300). SEF and DD coils are not your best choice for most beach hunting CT.

I have the ultimate 13 by detect and I really like it. It's well balanced

Hmm, the 13" wasn't made for the Spectras. The ULTIMATE coil is a new generation DD coil. This coil works with White’s DFX, MXT, M6, and MX5 metal detectors, that's what Kellyco lists.

It works on all 3 frequencies on my vx3, call Blake at KELLYCO and he'll explain the new coils

Nothing to explain, if it works fine, then why don't they say it does. seems like they are losing sales.I copied the line from there site. Earlier they actually said it wouldn't work on a Spectra. I always say use what works.

The black one didn't work as advertised, they remade them and the white ones work

You are the only one who has posted about using the 13". That was my point about them keeping it a secret. At least people will read that it is compatible. It might be a good option for VX3 people who only have a 9.5.

Right now I will keep using the 10x12 I tested for them. It does the job for me. :wiggle:

Give us a report sometime.

I like it so far, I haven't been a lot since buying it but I'll do a review of it when I use it some more.

Popped into my local (UK) MD Shop today & they asked me to check out a second hand 13" Detech Coil on my V3i..... They wanted to know if they could advertise it as being compatible for the V3i....

Findings as follows....Using Stock C/J program with a few tweeks ac68, disc90 tx boost off....

2.5 freq, 7.5 freq & dual 3 freq all overloaded at rx14 (failed the Whites coil test) However, most unexpected 22.5 freq rx15 NO overload (passed Whites Coil test)....All readings taken in air tx boost off...

Geeeeeeze it was deep though 2.5 frq @ rx9 ac68 disc90 in air hitting an old English silver florin @ 23" that's a tad bit deeper than my 12x10 sef....

As it overloads at rx14 in some freq I will advise them not sell it to V3i user, unless the user is made fully aware & is happy to accept the overloads....

Cheers Napper

That's more like I expected. Thanks.

The ultimate 13 is very balanced, it feels a lot lighter than the d2 by whites, and is deeeep, great separation. So far so good. And it does work in all three frequencies
