While waiting on AT Pro, I tried out my new one...:detecting:

As some of you know I had to send my first generation AT PRO into Garrett for a tune up, I couldn't stand the fact of not having it so after one weekend of borrowing a friends detector I decided to speed things up a little and have Bart at Big Boy's Hobbies overnight me the new AT Pro Spring Package...The picture is my best finds over the last two weekends, the box on the right is what I found (minus junk) last weekend without the AT PRO (best pin, clock gear, 1908 V Nickel and Jonteel blush container). Everything on left is what I found with the AT PRO this past weekend (1945 SL half, 57&37 Washington's, SL quarter no date, 1919 merc dime, 1905 Barber dime, broken sterling necklace or bracelet piece, 1950's coin lighter, Elvis medallion, trade token 5 cents, brass electrolarm tag, clad 2 quarters, clad 3 dimes, clad 12 pennies, and 13 wheat pennies. I'm sticking with digging good repeatable coin tones and passing over the bouncy signals (cherry pickin if ya will..lol)

In the last month I've landed 3 halves, 2 Mercury Dimes, 2 Barber dimes and 4 silver quarters, 4 Indians, 3 Buffalo Nickels, 3 V Nickels and 22 wheat cents, and $8.24 in clad. That's just the coins hunting the weekends.

I'm sure some do better, I know I've done worse but I have good confidence in my AT PRO....Running in coins Pro mode, iron discrimination at 35, sensitivity down 2 notches, manual GB and then backing off the GB 10 below what the ground normally reads...Trashy area's coin standard mode, same settings, iron audio checking on and off, slow and low and keeping the swings short and locking on small....THANKS FOR LOOKIN

Nice work there man, especially for not sitting around, and hitting it hard...three halfs? damn good job by both you and Bart for taking care of you like this!...
Where are you at in the World, Snide? no need to reply if you are not comfortable with it..just curious is all...

Hard to argue with those results! That's a load of silver for one weekend!!!

Mud, I am in Indiana....

Thanks for the comments, that is my best silver day ever I have been detecting for a little over a year now. Hit one of those yards where they used to have a bunch of activity and to my knowledge had never been detected in it's history (late 1800's home site) was kinda thinking or hoping for the age of the residence I woulda found something older, but I'll settle for what I found...:)

What really blows my mind is the halves, that's my 3rd half in a month...I have a friend that's been at this hobby a long time and only has found 3, I have another friend that went 12 years of detecting before he found his first half...I hope my luck will continue cause I'm certain that what it is, every half I have dug I thought was a smashed aluminum can before I dug it, VDI reading is near the same and you can lift the coil darn near 8-10 inches off the ground and they still read 'em.
