Hello everyone,
Well my Explorer SE, is back at the lab getting the LCD repaired. I like the Explorer allot but I still love my :Garrett:GTAx-1250, So I had no problem taking it out to which probably was my last day this year of non frozen ground. It was a nice fall day, Er.winter day in the woods 50+ degrees I actually over dressed I was sweating. I decided to venture into the woods of the local town Forrest, and was happy to see some old stone walls I haven't noticed before. I put the 1250 in Relic mode, jacked up the sensitivity, and dug everything that beeped. I found a few spam keys, a salt shaker top, lots of 22cal casings, tons of shotgun shells, lots of ringtabs, a few buttons, a brass cigarette case, some unknowns, and three pennies, 1953,1920,1909. You should have seen the look on my face when I saw 1909 on a wheat penny I found. The only thing funnier was the look on my face when I saw that it had no S vdb markings on it.
Well it was great to get out and I hope us, detectorists may get another chance up here in the Northeast to have some unusually warm days in the winter.
Thanks for looking

Quite an assortment bud. I love the woods or forest out here in Oregon. How'd you like to hunt this spot. Our beautiful Columbia Gorge.

I've had the same dumb luck to find a 1909 NON SVDB on occasion. It can get the juices flowing, though, which in itself is a good thing.

What do you suppose such a grubby old Wheatie might be worth? Ive seen UNDUG specimens, F-XF going for 800-2000 $USD, but what about gnarly old dug specimens? Mere VDB's go for $5!
We'd probably be better off getting some water gear and going to the lakes, eh?

I didn't see any modern pull tabs, they are all beaver tails. Your site has some age to it without being disturbed. I'd grid it and go over it with a fine tooth comb. If someone has been over it they were cherry-picking for silver.
