Loaded up my smoker with 10 LBS of fresh deer meat with a pan full of maple wood chips on the heating element. Waited until the unit started smoking, had a wiff of that great maple flavered smoke, then headed off to an old favorite spot which sometimes gives up a nice find or two. Today that spot was quite generous.......

My first find of the day was an old padlock, about 3" deep. Then came some more goodies!

My favorite was this gold plated Military Medal , found on a gold ribbon. The large cent and token were just icing on the cake! After the finds photo op at home, I bagged my jerky. It lost over half it's weight from drying......

Mmmmm .... venison jerky.
