Hi cion2,

Sounds like you want one machine that does it all. Well, I think the MXT comes about as close to fitting that description as is possible to get.

It is a good coin/jewelry machine. It really find nickels and likes gold. It does well with relics. And, It finds quite small gold nuggets. There are specialty machines that do some better in one of these categories. There are few, if any, machines that do better than the MXT in all of these categories.

From my experience, the MXTs shortest suit is salt water beach hunting. But, even there it does reasonably well if you carefully set and lock ground balance. It is necessary to re-do the ground balance each time you move from one of the three environments to another. The environments are: dry sand, wet sand, and coil under water.

Since you are looking for an all purpose machine, I think you will be happy with the MXT. You will be even happier if you buy a 4 1/2" X 7" DD or 8" DD coil, and a Sun Ray DX-1 pinpointer along with the MXT.

If your not doing any prospecting I would recommend a Prizm 4 or 5, or the new M6. I purchased the MXT because I want to do nugget hunting and coin hunting.
