Which would work better for high conductors like coins ?

A good question Frank & one I've been wondering about for a long time myself.---You meant the GBSE version 2.9 ("29er") versus the G2, right?-----The 2.9 version is the one that some has claimed to be hotter.----------We have the G2 (version 1) and it does quite well on fairly deep coins.---It also is dynamite in target seperation, but that's not what your question was about.------Be interesting to see the responses you get.

I don't have the 2.9 software version but have one of the 2.0 non vco models just before the 2.9, I also have the G2 version 1 software and the 2.0 is hotter on coins but it is mainly due to it hits at full strength no matter depth. The G2 seems to be a little faster and able to deal with iron a little better. The jury is still out! But if I had to give one up the G2 would go I like the s rod configuration on the GB better and think the grip and mount for the g2 is week. In the Fisher classic forum there was pictures of the insides on 2.0, 2.9 and a g2. one thing added after the 2.0 was a resistor inside the unit and on one of the coil wires. From a simple standpoint it has to be reducing some portion of the signal. ????

From what I've read you need a coin coil not a gold coil
