Which would be better The "S" type rod or Staight rod

I was wondering what would be better to use the straight rod type or the "S" style one. I detected for a few hours with my Minelab Elite and my arm was real tired. I had to switch a few times. Right now I has the "S" style. and I have seen people putting the unit at the end of the pole. Is this because of the weight? I've been using the all-metal mode switch to pinpoint my target and I also have a Sun-Ray S-1 probe attached to the side of the pole in back. And would it be a pain to have the unit in a side pouch made by Minelab. I'm just trying to make it a little bit lighter so I can swing all day. Your thoughts and Idea's would be great, Thanks

Troy,The straight rod asm will make a world of difference.Equivalent from driving a dump truck to a sports car.

The idea is to balance the weight in such a way as to make it comfortable to swing it from side to side without tiring.

Why these manufactures can't figure this out baffles me!

Machines costing over a thousand dollars and supplied with rods that are beyond belief!

"Ergonomics be damned" seems to be the way to go!!

I guess as long as we will buy them who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a straight rod for my Excalibur a few years ago. I hip mounting it for years, but after i got a straight shaft I have not gone back to hip mount. Only way to fly...

It just occurred to me I didn't answer your question!
