As far as I have seen they are both the same. I have the Makro, TRX, and Garrett AT. Out of the lot I like the Garrett.

Nokta and Makro Pointers are similar with the following differences:
Makro Pointer Sensitivity Range - 4 levels
Nokta Pointer Sensitivity Range - 10 levels
Nokta has lost alarm and auto shut-off , Makro does not
Nokta Pointer - Gray with orange control unit and orange replaceable hard-shell cases
Makro Pointer - All black
Makro Pointer Sensitivity Range - 4 levels

i do not need that too many levels on Sensitivity Range
I do not need this lost alarm because i can not hear ( deaf) but can hear with hearing aid.
i just purchased an used almost brand new Makro pinpointer with good low cost. i will post if i like or do not like after i receive it this week.

also i already ordered Makro Gold Racer from Rob A. dealer whom i know for a long time.

Congrats on the Makro pointer. I really like mine. have had mine for about 7 months with no problems. sure like that when done hunting I can just wash it off with water hose .being it water proof.
