Which Pinpointer?

I should have combined this with headphone post, sorry.

I'm currently using an X1 probe with my Etrac and will lose that when I make the switch to the CTX. I'm wondering which is the better choice the Garrett or MineLab pinpointer?

Thank you, everyone, for your assistance as I take the big step.

I have used both extensively in the fields of England and I have come to rely on the Garrett for best overall performance when detecting coins and relics. I can see where the Minelab would be best when nugget shooting with it's ability to diminish the range of detection. But you can do this with the Garrett, too, so Garrett is the one I use.

I have and use both. Getting ready to send my Garrett back but either one will serve you well. You will miss the X-1. HH :minelab:

i have 4 different pinpointers and the gerrit works the best for me

DukeOBass,
I had posted the same question under the "Metal Detecting Forum". Look there to get more confirmation of the most recommended pin pointer. My post is on the first page.

never tried the Garret. Used to have a Tinyec, that I liked, but wanted to move up and bought the Minelab. A couple of comments from an ol fart.
I've watched a lot of U tubes on both and read all on the forums that was available on the pinpointers, before buying. Saw a lot of Garrets having to be sent back in. I have found the Minelab to have pretty good range, much better than the Tinytec, but the Tinytec would almost vibtate out of my hand and I could hear the vibration. The Minelab, I have to hold very lightly to feel the vibration and I guess the best way to put it is I have to really pay attention. The Tinytec was stab and feel. The minelab is solid, maybe too solid. Battery life is very good, but would give up some battery life for one that'd vibrate harder.
Maybe someone will come up with a mod to do so. Wish I didn't give my Tinytec away.

I would recommend considering the Detectorpo Uniprobe. It's a great pair of headphones and a deep pinpointer in one.
