Which one would you buy and why.....G2/GBP/GB DP

Being I was really wanting either a GBP or an X-terra 705 before I got my F70.
And researched them both a lot.
I'd see if you could score a deal on a GBP dual-pack. The GBP is one of Steve Hershbach's ( the Prospecting thread Mod) vlf machines he uses. The dual pack has both the 5"DD and a 10"x5"DD closed-face elliptical that gets close to the same depth as the 11"DP coil.
It was made to be a good, basic vlf machine, that is tuned to small gold. You would probably have to get a GB2, a GMT, or a Minelab eureka gold to find any smaller flakes.
The GBP is not considered a "coin" machine. But the one I tried out seemed to hold its own.
The G2 is rumoured to be better tuned for silver. But I have yet to hear or read if that is the gospel truth(Dave J. hasn't said so, that I know of)

The Gold Bug 2 is pretty specialized - it is the best ever for gold in the smallest detectable size - 1 grain and below - down to sizes you can barely see. Not much good for coins and relics however since it has no adjustable discrimination level and will find every fragment of lead and aluminum foil on earth!

The GBP and GB DP are the same machine with different coils. The G2 is the same machine as the GBP in a different package. The GBP is an excellent all-around detector but there are better (and cheaper) coin shooters. The consensus is that for gold detecting the 6X10 DD coil is the one to get. At some point, perhaps it will be offered with that as a standard (as opposed to package or extra) coil.
