Which one should I keep of the Sovereigns

I can't make up my mind on the one I should keep. Your input would be helpful, should I keep the Sovereign Elite or the Sovereign GT. As always thank you for your help.

Why should what someone else thinks matter, you're the one that's going to look at it and use it. You have them both, they should both have about the same depth, the main thing is the GT has the handgrip welded on top of the shaft instead of the s bend of the shaft for a grip. but that's a matter of personal preference. If you really like the Sovereign and you want to keep using them for years, then I would keep them both since they don't make that model any more, and eventually they are not going to do repairs on them, so you will have a backup machine if one quits.

If it was me there is no question as the GT is the one I would keep, but that is me. You can do more with the GT than the Elite as the GT can be used for Prospecting also with the trac and lock ground balance that that can be used in all metal even though I don't use it myself, but it is there. Also I am not a fan on silent search, but have seen some good use for it in areas where targets are far and few as it seems like the last target is always a null of iron and have to listen to that low tone of iron threshold too much, so using the silent search the GT has I can switch it over to silent search. I never use it in places where there is a lot of different targets. I also feel for me the sensitivity on the GT is the best of all Sovereigns and will even false more too as it is so sensitive, but once you know this you can tell the difference by checking it by coming from a different angle.
Like I say this is me and others will differ, I say to many the Elite is a great detector too and easier for those new to the Sovereigns, but for those that know their Sovereign the GT is the one I would go with, the GT is more of the professional Sovereign.

Keep em both or if you have to sell......sell off just the coil and rod to one of them.....the box is the heart of the unit...always good to have a spare especially since they arent made anymore.....
I prefer the elite.......

If money was an issue I would sell the GT and keep the Elite.I use an Elite and like this Sovereign very much because of its performance.

Isn't the GT the same as an Elite but with an Iron Mask On/Off switch? If so, i'd be keeping the GT as you may want to flick that switch one day. :)

Also as you own both, shouldn't you know which one you prefer? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Personally I like the Elite. I use the multi-tone to search, but if it gives me a warble tone I toggle to single tone and find out if its two targets. The GT doesn't have the one tone toggle, but it has other options.......of which I didn't use. One question would be:: does Minelab still repair the Elite?? Would there be somone else that could repair older Sovereigns?? All the Sovereigns are fairly stout machines, but the repair thing may sway your choice.
