Which One Of These Old Coins Is The Best Find ?

I'm posting this question just for the fun of it.

I hunted around an old abandoned house yesterday and on the way home I was thinking ... what was the best coin I found today - the 1912 V- Nickle or the 1942 Silver Quarter ?

A tough call ... Silver is Silver but you don't find V - Nickel's that often either!

I keep records of all of my finds and I also write down what I think is the "best coin I've found that week".

So .. which one of these two coins do you think is the best find ?
:detecting:

Silver quarter is always nice, but the V Nickel littel harder to find and you can read the date thats nice. So I pick the Nickel.

I personally would rather find the silver. Theres just something about seeing that silver coming out of the ground that gets my blood going. Sometimes when I can just see the edge of that silver coin Ill stop and just look at it trying to guess what year it might be.

I also go by the oldest being the best

good stuff.....love em both but lean towards the V.

I LOVE silver, but have to go with old..............can't tell from the picture, but is the "V" a "D" or "S"?
Nice finds!

Yep. Oldest is usually my favorite find of the day as well...no matter what the coin. Nice finds. Thanks for the pictures.

I agree. V nickels are harder to find, but I'd be happier with the '42 quarter. There is something great about seeing the edge of a nice shiney quarter in the hole.

I'm voting silver buddy. If I didn't have a v or two yet maybe. But like the others said its about seeing the edge of that cold little gray disk. I have dreams about it. Seeing it poking out of the side of the hole with big damn gouge from lesch! Oh wait that's real life!

I'd say silver quarter. I find plenty of V nickels but its rare that I come across a silver quarter regardless of date.

i'd say the silver washington. silver is hard to come by especially quarters. and 1912 has to be the most common V. But either way they are both awesome finds in my book congrats
