I am looking at getting a new unit and wanted feedback on which one to get. I am working on several sand bars in the Keys that tends to get alot of beer cans and bottle tops. and with the sand shifting out at low tide I was looking for something to get down about ten inches that will pick up a gold ring at least. Thanks for the input.

If you have to deal with beer cans the Excal is your best bet. With the tone ID you can skip over the aluminum cans and listen for the lower gold tones. As for the 8 or 10 question, if you have a lot of trash go with the 8, if you have few signals the 10 would be a better choice. Of course the 10 will go deeper too.
