Which of these two coils is best for my M6.........eliptical shooter DD 4x6 or Eclipse 5.3 6" round coil????

Depends on what type of hunting you want to use it for. I have and use both on my MXT. The 5.3 is very good in trashy areas, has good depth and decent coverage. Works pretty well as a mostly used coil. The 4X6 is extremely good in heavy trash, near surgical in nosing out good targets, and can get close to playground equipment etc. with reduced sensitivity, but gives up some depth and coverage. So -- it depends on what type of location you are hunting. IMHO, 5.3 best for general hunting and fairly trashy areas, the 4X6 for extremely trashy areas and getting close to metal objects. Hope this is helpful.

Good to see you are using one of Whites best C&J detectors!
The M6 rules ! with pure simplicity.

Never used the 4x6 just ordered it. The 5.3 is also very good. I don't think you would
go wrong with it.

Larry, I think you'll be impressed with the 4X6. The pinpointing and separation are surgical. Of course the trade off is ground coverage and a bit less depth, but for the intended purpose it's really good and it's a joy to swing. Be sure to slow your swing down as the small footprint makes it easy to fly past the target. Try it out in the trashiest areas you hunt and let us know your thoughts. Enjoy

You may wish to look up some of Monte's posts. He has commented extensively on the White's coils. Monte is one of the top Guru's on this forum. He has decades of experience with just about every mfg/detector out there .......present and past. He is definitely a person you want to answer White's questions.

I have and use both also on my M6 and am in agreement with Barber Bill's findings . If I was limited to one I would go with the 5.3 concentric. I have read many of Monte's post's and he is a huge fan the 5.3 concentric on the M6 and the MXT .

. . . so I'll second his opinion. The 5.3 for general/all around (80%+ of the time it's on my MXT, it would be on there more but I change up on the types of hunting I do all the time) and the 4x6 if you are finding a real need for it.

I have used both Coils and they both will get the job done......... The 5.3 has more depth, The 4x6 is more of a park / Tot Lots type hunting coil where your not looking for monster depth anyway.
