Hank, I don't know who to tell you to go with but I know who won't get my business and that is Lost Treasure. Why? Well I get a new detector and it comes with the trial subscription of Lost Treasure magazine right? You all know what I'm talking about if you've bought a new detector from most manufacturers. Well I fill it out and send it in and eventually I get a Lost Treasure magazine in. I look through there and there may one or two helpful articles but it's mostly, in my opinion, seems to be a lot of hot air, hype, propaganda and of course the adds to sell you something. Just like any other magazine right? Well not all of them b/c there are decent ones out there. Anyway, they keep sending me an invoice or a bill is what it really is, to get me to purchase a year or two year subscription for what I think is not a very great magazine at all. It's ok to try to get subscribers but it's the presentation of it all b/c it's a bill! :rage:

They tell me "Final Notice" with amount due and payment methods just like a real bill. They ten tell me "my account remains unpaid", "there is still time to clear up this matter to get my subscription reinstated", "if you simply overlooked our invoices, please send your payment at once." "I'd be much happier sending you the next issue of Lost Treasure magazine than mailing your these bills". "You can manage your account by visiting our website and pay your invoice online". I'm not making any of this up; I am holding the "bill" in my hand and quoting right off of their "Invoice".

See, they even call it a bill! I in no way shape or form agreed to a subscription, set up an account or promised to pay for any magazines yet they treat you as if you are a delinquent and come down on you like bill collectors! All I did was get the trial one magazine to check it out; it turns out I don't like it so now they send me bills to harass me:rant: I've got a really good notion to send mail to every detector manufacturer who sends these cards out with their new detectors to tell them just what I think of Lost Treasure and how they harass you with bills to buy their magazine. Anyway, my two cents and then some. If any readers think Lost Treasure is the cats meow then that's great for you and I've no problem with you but that's how I feel about them.

Thanks Habanero for the helpful info, sounds like underhanded tactics to get money from the consumer to me,thanks again buddy, HH tigerhank68

Usually when you subscribe to LT you get about 4 past issues and then 8 new ones. Not a big deal if you hadn't already bought the last four from the news stand.
