hi
I am a treasure hunter in IRAN.
I want to know which metal detector is suitable for treasure huinting according our needs .
almost our treasure positioned at depth of 1 meter upto 6 meter. and our soil generally are mineralized.
we need a metal detector to detects objects at the size of a kettle or biger at 2 metere and above.
we can pay atmost 7000$ for it. we expect it to determine the type of metal , its depth and size(if its possible), but depth and type are more important.
what is you Idea about OKM Rover Deluxe , or MineLab gp3500 , or maybe garret gti2500 ?

thank you inadvance.

Greetings Ehsan,

Welcome to the forum..I've been metal detecting since 1995 and have recently upgraded to Fisher's ID Edge which I purchased new this past spring. I live in the US the state of VA which is also similar to your soil in Iran in that it is heavily mineralized.

I guess the biggest question is what sort of "treasures" are you seeking: what type of coins (gold, silver, bronze etc,) and or relics from past civilizations? I think once you've answered that question then you can move onto type of detector that you're looking to buy. I can't comment on the other detectors that you mentioned in your earlier post since I have never used any of them-but I can comment on Fisher's ID Edge and I have pulled numerous old coins (US Indian Head cents, Barber dimes), and various bullets and buttons from the US American Civil War (1861-1865). I have been very pleased with this detector for my style of hunting. I purchased it on line from www.Kellyco.com and i paid around $650.00 US not near the $7000 you stated earlier-no detector costs that much $$$

How are the laws/regulations in Iran regarding detector users like yourself-make sure you check out all the rules/laws to avoid any type of problem from the legal authorities in your country. Good luck and HH (happy hunting!)

hi
thank you for your reply.
actually we are treasure hunter and looking for relics.
we plan to bye a garret gti 2500 with eagle eye depth multiplyer.
I will be glad to know your idea about this metal detector
yours truly

For that kind of depth and soil, I would go with a Nexus, Minelab GPX 4000 or if you use the Garrett GTI 2500, you will need the Treasure Hound Eagle Eye attachment. Good hunting, David@Dixie
