Which headphones to buy? Ratphones or Sunray...

I know this has probably been gone over before. The headphones that came with my MXT are extremely uncomfortable (cheap pair by white's) so I'm looking to purchase a new pair. I'm debating between the Sunray Pro Gold, Ratphone MSA blue max, or the older black Ratphones which are still the same price as the newer Ratphone MSA. Has anyone used the Ratphone MSA blue max? Thanks!

I have the Blue MSA RATS. Only mine are white. Great sounding. You won't be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and order a spare tail. Put it in a drawer some place safe. You will be set for years.

I have the RAT Max and the Sunray's. Both very good and both will do you well. I like the RAT a bit better. Good luck to you, Beale.

I'm going to try out the Blue MSA Rats. I just wish they made them in black....oh well. Thanks for the information!

According to the specs in their ad's, the new MSA Ratphones volume control is internally sealed. This would seem to me to be a disadvantage since every time you wanted to make any adjustment you would have to take them off and open them up instead of just reaching up to an external knob as on the older models. Also they appear to be much bulkier and cover more head space. Would this not make them a lot hotter in warm weather? And of course they don't fold up like the older ones do either.

TSeeker: Ummm......I read that but didn't think it meant you would have to open them up to change the volume?? I certainly would not want to mess with that. Goodmore- Since you have the blue msa ratphones....how hard is it to change the volume? Thanks everyone for the advice.

The volume controls are on the outside of each ear piece. They look like little posts. Not your ordinary knobs. You can see them in the picture. I believe the audio limit circuitry is what you might be thinking of.

Yep that's them, a nice small out of the way volume control.

Thanks for clearing up the volume control issue! Now, I just need to find someone with the Blue MSA Rats in stock.
