WHICH HEADPHONES FOR THE CLASSIC IDX DETECTOR

vernt

New member
I JUST GOT A USED CLASSIC IDX BUT NEED A DECENT HEADHONES FOR IT. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT WORKS WITH IT AND ISN'T TOO EXPENSIVE? HOW WELL DO THE WHITE'S HEADPHONES PERFORM, BLOCK OUT NOISE, AND ARE COMFORTABLE? THANKS.

In my opinion, one of the worst mistakes folks make is not buying good grade headphones. I prefer the Grey Ghost headphones, but there are other top of the line headphones that are just as good. Many top of the line headphones will be comfortable, you will hear a sharper signal, and they will last a long time...many even have a lifetime guarantee. If, at this time, you can not afford to buy new headphones, try to buy used "top of the line" headphones from the classified section of this Forum or from eBay. I would like to wish you the best, hope you find lots of good treasure. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

Ok I'll touch this one get a good set of Headphones like a set of Koss, philips, sony etc that have the full ear cup.
Most of the new headphones are over 30 ohms or more.
I'm an electronic tech for over 30 years and hope info helps.

Most of todays brand name headphones come with a lifetime warranty, and it's money well spent. Headphones take a lot more abuse than most people realize, and 90% of the problems will be a short in the coiled cable. Prices are comparable, so check for the features you need, then match those that are in your price range. Take care to note: some offer free return shipping with repairs; some do not. Detector Pro (Gray Ghost, etc), Troy, Sun Ray, Timberwolf are some of the better known brands. I use them and can recommend them. Cheap headphones, although they work, are just that; cheap. They won't carry the lifetime warranty nor quality. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
