which Digger to buy

I'm a tesoro owner so I hope its cool I ask this here..

I finally need a real digging tool and this can only happen once,, which one should I buy!

Lesche, Razors Edge, or Garrett....

also as far as Lesche I think you have a choice which side of the digger you want the teeth on,,, if so I'm right handed and wondering if theres a favorite.

Lesche . Also I am right handed and the notches seem to be opposite of what they should be but still a great digger. Personally they should be on both sides would be the perfect digger then

I think it may depend on your soil conditions as which digger works best, as their is alot of different ones to choose from. I went with the Lesche, made in USA and heavy duty. I had the same dilemma, which one to get, I am guessing the right hand one, is designed to be safer as you are cutting away from your self, but IMO digging a plug seems more natural, if you are right handed and have a left handed model digging a U shaped plug. With that said, I ordered the right hand model and have not had any issues.

thanks for the posts,,,, what sponser here sells the lesches in both LH and RH,,, was on kellys sight and they didn't offer a choice

Lesche==== I have heard the Garretts bend and are hard to get in the ground , I am not familiar with the other brand ,

I use the Garrett Edge, and despite the negative reports its awesome. Very heavy duty carbon steel... You're not bending it.
Goes into dry hard soil like it was butter.

Get yourself a Lesche and never worry about another digger again.

After I got the Etrac & Tejon I was digging 8"+ holes with my whimpy screwdriver and trowel I'd been using with my GSII for yrs. GSII is only good for 4-6" coins and Tejon and Etrac showed me real fast that I needed some decent tools and fast...lol Spent a trillion on the ET so figured I'd buy the best to go with the ET as I needed it badly. Got the regular Lesche digger along with the Lesche Mini-Sampson (with T-handle). That Mini-S can cut a 7" plug so fast and then I use the regular Lesche for going deeper when I need a more surgical tool. Both are excellant imo but if you are going deep that Mini-S is an absolute must (imo).... Luv that thing........

I used the Garrett tool until I tried a Soil Knife made by Zenport. The thinner blade is very strong and cuts through my hard ground much easier than the Garrett.

I find the Wilcox diggers to be good ones.

i would not advise buying the garret i hate mine gonna get a leshe. the blade abolutely bend and the cap on the end is most certainly goin to push in and start cutting into your hand. when i first got the digger i thought it was allright but now after a year of using it ive def changed my mind. do yourself a favor and dont buy the garret

seems to be what everyone is saying, the Garrett is fine but when its used a lot or digging hard ground it fails. I'll be getting the Lesche.

By all means, a Lesche- either the Classic 75, or the wider throated 31 Raptor. Either is great, and since I already have the 75, next time it will definitely be the Raptor...

Ive got a lesche also but have been more using a Wilcox and Treasure Wise. The Treasure Wise has a nice rounded front that gets dirt out of the hole quicker but its not good in hard dirt. The Wilcox is good in harder dirt and moves more dirt than the lesche.
