Which Detector

vernt

I'm looking for a detector that is excellent for hunting jewelry in the dry and wet salt beach sand, the waters edge , and in the ocean/surf, not diving but maybe wadding or up to chest high, waves permitting. I figure many people will have their pet detectors, but impartially as you can which detector(s) would you recommend. Thank You

There are plenty others out there as well. But if you check around I think you'll find these 3 to be the most used. There is a reason for that! They work!

Hi Vernt,

I have been using an Explorer II for about fifteen months with great success regardless of sand conditions, However it's only waterproof up to the control box and if you put an X1 probe on it, as I have it's waterproof up to the coil switch (about half way down the top shaft), if you really want to get everything wet go for the Minelab Excalibur 1000 and get the best of all the completely waterproof detectors, I don't think you will be sorry.

Hope this helps....All the best....Boony
