Which detector would you choose?

I've reduced my choices for a relic detector to the Fisher 1270, or the Tesoro Tejon. Any good or bad points I need to consider? Which one overall will be deeper?

You have broken your choice down to 2 of the best detectors availible, as far as I am concerned. I used to use the 1270 excusively, I had to send it back for a little work(my fault) and got a Cibola to use while it was gone. Easiest machine I ever used. I have one complaint about Tesoro's, no volumn knob 'cause where I hunt I cant use headphones and my hearing is not real good anymore. The Fisher has one and has a little longer learning curve but not much. With the Fisher, I have dug bullets 14-16 inches deep. With the Cibola a foot or so but you have to go slow and listen very carefuly but if you use headphones you would be better off probably with both machines. I have not used a Tejon but am fixing to make a step up pretty soon. Check with David at dixie he can help you more that I can, a more knowledgable person on detectors you will never come in contact with...d2

Thanks for the input! I have read alot of good things about both. All the reviews, posts etc seem to agreee that the fisher is consistantly deep out of the box. The Tejon seems to have a few mixed reviews, as If they may not be consistantly set up. I do have a cibola, It was my first detector and it works great. Like you said "very easy to use." I think I'll opt for a 1270 due to it's smaller coil and seperate iron disc., and also its famed depth. I like the trigger switch to check targets. Thanks again.
