Go sovereign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.terry

Sovereign is by all reports an excellent detector but is more than twice the price of the Vaquero.

Unless you are going to do a lot of wet salt sand and beach hunting, I think you are better than OK with the Vaquero.

I have used a Cibola a lot on land and love it. I have used it on the beach and it does very well in the dry sand. I have used it wading in fresh water with excellent results. I have used it wading in salt water with the sensitivity turned down and have found goodies but not very deep. In the wet salt sand and shallow salt water wading areas it is usable with the sensitivity turned down but depth on desirable targets is probably 4 inches at best in these wet salt areas. Because of successes with the Cibola in the shallow water, I knew I wanted to get into the water and found a good deal on a CZ-20. My most used land detector is still the Cibola (Vaquero's near twin).

Good luck jnstrom!

Thanks a ton. I am currently working a deal out for the Vaquero. I cant wait. how far into the salt water did you go? How far in the fresh? I know the electronics is not waterproof, but what about shin deep, Knee deep. Maybe Ill find my old watch that I lost 10 years ago. HA:clapping:
