I own a Sovereign GT and am getting good depth with it particularly on small silver coins.,
I recently purchased Silver uMax and must say i,m very impressed with it,i really like how light it is to swing. I would like to get deeper with it though.
My question is, is it possible to get more depth? and which coil should i buy ?
You will get plenty more depth with Tejon, Silver uMAX has a preset ground balance and, if you change coils you should also change this setting internally.
I get more depth and coverage out of the 12x10 . In the soil where I live I dont have the GB problem but EMI can be. Sens is set to 8 and its OK You can have the unit tuned to the larger coil The silver covers the parks at all levels shallow to deep.
the 12x10 will give the silver more depth, but in a trashy park or yard is not the place for it. it works best in fields and non trashy areas. the 9x8 coil will give you a little more depth over the stock 8 inch coil, but my favorite coil for the silver is the 5.75 coil. you still get good depth and it will pick the good targets outta the trash the other coils can't find from being masked. if you don't have the 5.75 coil yet for your silver i'd buy it first and go back over some of your sites and see what you missed before. i think you might be surprised to find you missed some nice targets.
