Which coil?

Going out to an Historical Meeting house location and not sure about soil or trash, should I use the standard 12" coil or 5" excellerator coil? Will be in Reail mode and Coins and Jewelry Mode. Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

TAKE BOTH.

Yes, Just as Barber Bill said. Take both and if it's not trashy, use the bigger coil...... if there's a lot of noise in the ground, use the small coin and go S-L-O-W. Hope that helps.

I agree, always take different coils with you. Its better then having to drive back home because one doesn't have the coil for the job.........

This thread has been up for a few days and I got to thinking about it. In my own experience to date, in most instances I'd rather be caught with a smaller coil and be forced to hunt more intensely, versus fighting a trashy area with a large coil only. Of course the best option is to have several coils available when you go out unless you are going to an area where you already know what works best.
